LifCity was born in Naples, the app with information on monuments, shops and restaurants in the city
The free LifCity app arrives, with information on monuments, museums, shops in Naples with the possibility of virtual tours!
Due ingenious Neapolitan boys, Ivan Ruscetta, IT expert, and Davide Russo, programmer, have created an application, called LifCity, which allows tourists to learn about monuments to visit, virtually entering them, restaurants to eat and shops where they can go shopping, with information on offers and promotions in progress in the shops.
The app is free download on smartphones and tablets, but does not use the GPS geolocalizer, but iBeacon, a new technology signed by Apple, which uses antennas that transmit data via Bluetooth 4.0. It is a fast and low energy consumption data transmission system.
With LifCity you will have information on places of interest, which will be shown in photos and told to tourists through news, history and even a audio description. The system provides for the sending of a notification to the smartphone as soon as you are close to monuments, churches, museums, shops in the database.
The two computer scientists, founders of the cultural association Tealif, with this invention they will improve the tourist offer in Naples and, for this reason, they have already installed antennas, on an experimental basis, in the areas of San Gregorio Armeno and square San Gaetano, since during the Christmas period they were the most visited by tourists. To expand the offer, Ruscetta and Russo await the permits from the municipality to complete the mapping of the city.
The project will soon broaden its horizons and in the coming weeks should be presented and made official at a press conference a Palazzo San Giacomo, attended by Mayor De Magistris and the city council.
