Captivi, guided tour theatralized at the Pio Monte della Misericordia in Naples
At the Pio Monte della Misericordia institute, "Captivi" will be an evocative theatrical journey in the "Redemption" of 600th century Naples!
With around 400 years of history, art and charitable works behind it, the complex of the Pio Monte della Misericordia will open its doors to the Neapolitan public.
Saturday February 28 2015, the ancient charitable foundation will be the scenario of "Captivi", a fascinating theatrical guided tour organized by the NarteA cultural association.
In particular, thanks to the narrations of an expert guide and to the interpretations of professional actors, the liberation, physical and psychological, of the Christian slaves in Naples, known as the Opera of Redeeming of the Captivi.
A historical reality, this, which will be relived through a prestigious collection of ancient paintings, silver, furnishings, texts and themed documents. Particularly interesting will be masterpieces such as "San Paolino who redeems the slave", Signed by Giovanni Bernardino Azzolino e le"Seven works of Mercy"Of Caravaggio.
All embellished by the performances of the actors of NarteA that will take visitors on one of the darker and lesser known pages of the Naples of the 600.
