Everything is ready in Mercogliano for Castellarte 2017, the International Street Artists Festival with culture and good food!
The village of Capocastello a Mercogliano will be the now customary frame of Castellarte, International Festival of Street Artists which will take place from 28 to 30 July 2017.
This event was born to enhance the Borgo di Capocastello, once abandoned and now visited every year by more than 50.000 visitors participating in the festival, which has become a classic of the summer of Campania as it has reached the XXIV edition. "Avanti Pop" is the theme chosen by the Castellarte Association for this edition, which will also include Antonio Ippolito, one of the founders of Kermesse.
The subversive, critical and playful spirit of the Pop art, the attention to the influence of consumerism and the mass media on individuals and theirs innovations of the cultural season which has Andy Warhol as an icon have therefore inspired this edition. This expresses the idea that it is increasingly necessary to tell stories, strengthening the bond with the territory, bringing the immediacy of street art into the streets of one of the most beautiful medieval villages of Irpinia and creating cultural projects "at your fingertips", with the artist performing just a step away from the public.

Photographic competition
For the third consecutive year the Associazione Culturale Fotografica salernitana "Mediterranean Colors" organizes the Photo Contest dedicated to the most beautiful images created by amateur photographers during the three days of Castellarte.
The Oltrepop. Literature festival
Organized by the Oltrepop group, it will be characterized by meetings, interviews and projections with writers, philosophers and journalists, as well as projections dedicated to characters. The Festival will make use of the collaboration of Radio Shamal, web radio of Naples that will have a fixed position at Capocastello for the duration of the Festival.
Areas of taste
One of the strong points of Castellarte has always been thefood and wine which draws heavily on the vast repertoire of tradition and the flavors and aromas typical of the area of Partenio. A feast for the eyes and the palate that runs along the path of the Festival, in the most evocative places of the village of Capocastello, for pleasant convivial brackets.
