Limited travel on the Naples-Salerno line for collapse in San Giovanni a Teduccio

A cottage in San Giovanni a Teduccio collapses: new inconveniences for the commuters of the railway line

Yet another disaster has struck the Italian State Railways' Naples-Salerno line . After the previous collapse that blocked rail traffic on the Naples-Torre Annunziata-Salerno lines , causing significant inconvenience to commuters, the situation is only getting worse.

Indeed, another collapse occurred overnight , this time in San Giovanni a Teduccio on Via Detta Innominata . The collapse was an old leather factory, one of the many abandoned farmhouses in the area, now left in total neglect, and the effects of this neglect are increasingly noticeable.

Fortunately, the collapse occurred at 3 a.m. Fate spared all victims, but the risk was high. Until a few days earlier, the farmhouse had been sheltering numerous animals , which had been relocated and thus, by pure chance, saved from the disaster.

Bulldozers are working to restore traffic on the road, currently blocked by the collapse that has so far prevented residents from passing.

It is hoped that the railway line will be made safe quickly, but it is not yet clear whether traffic will be blocked.
