AperiTour of the Lungomare. From castle to castle

When: Saturday 31 May at 16:00. Appointment in front of the Maschio Angioino

Naples has four castles, Castel Nuovo, Castel dell'Ovo, Castel Sant'Elmo and Castel Capuano. This tour will allow the participants to discover them all, following the road that connects them to discover the magnificence of such structures, the history and the complicated bond between the Neapolitan people and their regents.

The appointment is at the entrance of the Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, one of the symbols of the city of Naples, whose facade witnessed the passage from the Angevin and Aragonese kingdoms. The tour will then continue towards Piazza Trieste e Trento, from which to admire the historic Neapolitan opera house, the San Carlo Theater, the Artichoke Fountain, the Royal Palace wanted by the Viceroy Count of Lemos, the Palazzo del Cardinal Zapata and the Church of San Ferdinando.

A tour for discover one of the most elegant and noble streets of Naples, divided between small and large powerful. We will start from Piazza Amedeo, to walk the refined Via dei Mille, where the history of the rich nobles and patrons of the past resides through a row of luxurious palaces that have left us a legacy.

You can admire Castello Aselmeyer, one of the most successful examples of neo-medieval architecture in the city, the Arabian Eden hotel, Palazzo Rocella (now Palazzo delle Arti in Naples) and Palazzo d'Avalos, the church of the Immaculate Conception built in 1840 by Alfonso d'Avalos, the palaces built by the genius of Giulio Ulisse Arata, Piazza dei Martiri, Palazzo Calabritto and Palazzo Partanna.

The story of the city's oldest and most famous chocolate factory will also be told, Gay Odin, and all participants will be rewarded with a taste of chocolate at the end of the visit.

Participants will have the opportunity to taste sfogliatelle, zeppole and black pudding but also admire the churches of S. Maria Regina Coeli, the Monastery of S. Antonio delle Monache in Portalba and the monastery of S. Gregorio Armeno, all birthplace of signature sweets exquisitely feminine, with one exception: the church of San Pietro a Majella, an ancient Celestine monastery. The Market square and its churches

We will go to the discovery of the fascinating Market Square, which was the herb market with Charles of Anjou and the scene of capital executions, as well as famous revolts such as that of Masaniello. Here are the most beautiful churches in the city of Naples, and it is from here that the tour will start, to tell about a territory that is unfortunately now degraded, but the bearer of a very rich history and surprising beauty.

The tour starts from the church of San Giovanni a Mare, from which, passing under the Arco dell'Orologio, you can reach the beautiful church of San Eligio Maggiore. From there, continuing towards Piazza S.
