Naples is again at the center of the spotlight thanks to beautiful words pronounced by Tom Campbell, or the former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, now director of all San Francisco museums and great tapestry specialist.

As such, on a visit to Naples in the last few hours, he noted the beauty of the precious tapestries kept inside the Capodimonte Museum, in the room recently refurbished by the director Sylvain Bellenge.

In a long post on instagram he then expressed his enthusiasm for that incredible beauty and urges everyone to visit the Museum.

Campbell's words

The visit to the Capodimonte Museum in Naples left Tom Campbell with bated breath amazed by that view. The tapestries, for the director, are "revolutionary designs“, Works of art that represent real events, portrayed by life-size figures, inserted in the environment in which the events took place. According to his thought, never "Nothing like it in fresco or painting".

Unfortunately, according to Campell, the arezzi should be enhanced more, also through a play of lights, and in fact the director of the Museum, Bellenger, is working to improve this situation.

The instagram post then closes with Tom Campell's invitation to come to Naples and visit its incredible beauties, here are his words:

If you are planning a visit to Italy, go to Naples. If you go there, go to the Capodimonte Museum. And at the Archaeological Museum. And, of course, in Pompeii. They are visits of a lifetime.
