The Schillacci law for the no smoking continues its process, the goal is a very strong limitation of smoking and the equalization of electronic cigarettes to traditional ones, with numerous penalties.
But let's see in detail.
Stop smoking near hospitals and schools or in the presence of pregnant women and children
The biggest grip on smoking is precisely the relative one the nature of the area or the presence, in the vicinity, of other people also in outdoor places. This is not a real novelty, there are now many countries that have imposed these restrictions, many, in fact, can smoke only in special smoking areas.
The stop, still not active at the moment, seems to be of interest these outdoor areas:
- External areas of hospitals (already banned)
- Schoolyards (already banned)
- Public parks with children's areas
- Bus stops
- Metro stops
- Ferry marshalling yards
- Railway stations
- Any area where there are pregnant women and children
Total stop to smoking in the premises, smoking areas closed
In 2003, the introduction of the so-called caused a sensation Sirchia law, which prevented premises from having common areas for smokers and non-smokers, therefore forcing the creation of areas dedicated exclusively to smokers.
The result was that most managers, unable to afford the division, have in fact prevented from smoking, with rare exceptions for the larger restaurateurs. However, electronic cigarettes and the so-called "vapes" were excluded from this obligation.
With the introduction of the Schillacci law this possibility will also disappear, with a total abolition of smoking inside the premises and in the external common areas (such as the outdoor tables). Furthermore electronic cigarettes will also be equated to the traditional ones, which will therefore also be blocked.
Total stop to advertising even for electronic cigarettes
Many do not know that for traditional cigarettes it is absolutely any form of advertising is prohibited or sponsorship, whatever the nature thereof. This rule, however, was not in force for electronic cigarettes as they, through a trickcould be advertised.
How was it possible to advertise e-cigarettes?
Given that the e-Mrs need a device to refills, the nicotine is not contained in the device but only in the refills, and as the advertising of the refill liquid is prohibited and not the device, the manufacturing companies could, de facto, advertise the devices freely.
With the new law, this hole in the regulations and advertising of the devices will be remedied they will no longer be allowed.
Are there already regions and cities where the total stop is active?
Indeed yes, the stop is already active in some areas of our peninsula thanks to local measures or regional.
An example is the Veneto, in which some municipalities have signed a "manifesto" for de facto make it smoke-free public green areas, children's areas, beaches, public transport (including rest areas) and public parks.
