In Naples, challenge with bike for the European Cycling Challenge

The European Cycling Challenge in Naples provides a challenge between urban cyclists from different European cities.

Until 31 May 2017 the event will take place European Cyclig Challenge, which among the participating European cities will also see Napoli. The Municipality of Naples has joined the initiative for promote the use of bicycles as an alternative and ecological means of transport.

The challenge is divided into teams between urban cyclists of the various cities involved and each participant must keep track of your movements daily. The winning city will be the one with the highest number of bicycle users and the total kilometers traveled during the month.

The Napoli “team”, made up of whoever decides to participate by registering on the site, will have to record all cycling trips through the free app "Naviki" downloadable from Official site or enter your travels also manually.

From these data there will be a heatmap, that is one graphic map useful for planning the next choices regarding cycling mobility.

How to participate

  • Register (email, user and password) on the site Naviki and click on the confirmation link of your email (you can register directly from the app in step 3);
  • Open the app, click on: settings> races> ECC2017> I'm participating (ON)> Naples> my teams (possibly);
  • Ride! Upon departure: activate the GPS (you can also stay offline); open the app and click on "record route". Upon arrival (you must be online): save with name (or back button on your smartphone)> save> type of bike> purpose of the itinerary> next.

Rules

Movements made with the bike are considered valid if used as a means of transport and not as a sport. For example, going to work or school, going to the movies, shopping, but not doing sports is allowed. In fact, the movements made at an average speed that exceeds 30 km / h and a maximum speed greater than 45mk / I have a length greater than 35km will not be considered valid. You can also use them rental bikes, electric bikes, bike sharing and cargo bikes.
