Mid-August with art at the San Gennaro Treasure Museum

For those spending Ferragosto in Naples, there are so many ideas for enjoying it without missing the beaches and resorts. (You can read our article dedicated to Ferragosto 2013 in Naples .)

There are many opportunities to discover the artistic treasures of our city and take advantage of many offers to visit them without spending huge amounts.

The Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro , for example, has organized a special free guided tour for the day of Ferragosto, with a ticket costing 3,50 euros or 7 euros instead.

The initiative is entitled Ferragosto con l'arte (Ferragosto with art) and is promoted by the Marquis Pierluigi Sanfelice di Bagnoli, member of the Deputation of the Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro.

The meeting is in the Cathedral on August 15th at 9:30 am , where visitors will be welcomed by the museum director Paolo Iorio who will illustrate the wonders of the Museum and the Sacristies.

At 11:00, Marquis Sanfelice will speak about the patron saint of Naples, the miracle of the liquefaction of blood, and the history of the Deputation of the Royal Chapel of the Treasure.

At 12:00, a drink will be offered to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Ferragosto con l'arte initiative, held in collaboration with the Department of Major Events of the Municipality of Naples.
