Magical atmospheres and unique shows for the 2015 Lucerne Festival!
Until 5 August 2015 the evocative will take place Lucerne Festival which is celebrated the first week of August, every four years, at the medieval village of Casamale in Somma Vesuviana, on the slopes of Vesuvius. The event, most likely, is an ancient pagan peasant ritual.
Visitors will live on magical evenings, traveling the i alleys of the village illuminated by hundreds of small flames produced by oil lamps placed on wooden structures that have a particular geometric shape characterizing each vico, such as circles, squares, rhombuses, triangles. In addition, a mirror will be placed at the end of the vico to lengthen the perspective of lights.
The whole country will be decorated with ferns, chestnut branches, colorful balloons, chains of colored paper, pumpkins emptied with lit lamps inside that will be the setting for the typical peasant banquet scenes, animated by real people or puppets. An almost Dantesque atmosphere.
Il August 5th, day of the Feast of the Madonna della Neve, there will be a procession from the Collegiate Church through the four gates of the walled city and as it passes through some lobsters, women, well hidden from the view of others, will sweetly sing a cantilena of mourning and melancholy.
