Ancient rites, sacred readings and meditation at the Feast for the Equinox at Lake Averno in Pozzuoli to welcome Spring!
On 25 March 2017 will host the "Feast for the Equinox, the sacred wood of the Gods of Spring, the sacred wood of the Portal of Spring"The Lake Averno of Naples.
The celebration is of Greek-Roman origin: propitiatory rites were officiated to the divinities of the “Janus and Diana” portals in places considered to be “passages between worlds”, such as caves, temples or bodies of water.
The meeting is aimed at recall the positive energies of spring and the Etruscan origins of the Roman religion and the historical and esoteric ones of the ancient rituals of the sacred wood of Diana and Janus will be told. The role of the “Dianare” and the meaning of the corresponding spring symbols will also be explained. Each participant will have to collect the "herbs" of the lake along the path which will be thrown into the fire, being the "first fruits" of nature.
Fire is a symbol that means "generating" a new life of abundance and serenity. Furthermore, the rite will be accompanied by the reading of texts taken from Ovid, Apuleius, Diana and Janus. The event will end with a "guided meditation to connect to spring portal energies".
Each visitor will receive as a gift the herbs collected, the booklet of the history of the rite and the bag of spring herbs with an esoteric symbol of good omen.
