Fish Festival and traditions at Borgo di Marechiaro

The Neapolitan weekend is full of art, traditions and excellent cuisine thanks to the famous Festival of Santa Maria del Faro!

L'11 and the 12 April 2015, at the beautiful Borgo di Marechiaro, returns, after 50 years, the "Feast of Santa Maria del Faro" with many historical-cultural and gastronomic initiatives.

The event, organized by the Borgo Marechiaro association, presents a rich program of events in order to sensitize the Neapolitan public to the legality, respect and enhancement of the historic and beautiful town.

In particular, the day of 11 will be dedicated to the celebration of Holy Mass and to the fascinating immersion of the blessed statue of the Madonna in the waters overlooking the famous Finestrella di Marechiaro.

Sunday 12 April, the protagonist of the morning will be legality, through an extraordinary race edited by the Polis Foundation of the Campania Region and with the support of the Italian Canoe and Kayak Federation. The end of the race will be honored with a special toast, accompanied by products from land subtracted from organized crime presented by the Bottega dei Sapori and the Saperi della Legalità di Libera.

Sunday will continue with Mass and with the Neapolitan culinary art. In this regard, the restaurant Al Faro, will propose a tasty gastronomic itinerary between so much music, flavors and colors. For the participants will be prepared excellent menus based on fresh local fish, tasty pizzas and sfizioserie.

19: 00 - Immersion of the blessed statue of the Madonna in the mirror of water in front of the window of Marechiaro

Sunday April 12

10:30 am - Regatta for legality in collaboration with the Siani foundation. The regatta will start from the small port of Marechiaro
19: 00 - Celebration of Holy Mass at the Church of Santa Maria del Faro
20 Hours: 00 - Local Fish Festival. Gastronomic path
