Three wonderful venues for 19 events. The "Antro Festival"Takes place in Archaeological Park of the Phlegraean Fields from 26 August to 11 September 2022. A set of places rich in history and culture that host theatrical performances, music concerts, dance and conferences with a historical character to deepen some topics related to the area.

Why the Antro Festival? The words of the director of the Archaeological Park

“With the second edition of our Festival, the places in the Park will once again be filled with art, music and theater. For this season we have chosen “The wandering gods” as the theme, a stimulus borrowed from Virgil's Aeneid that will lead us to reflect on ancient stories and contemporary events. From the story of Aeneas, the prototype of the migrant, to the chronicles of our days, the Mediterranean is the sea of wandering. Thanks to the artistic expression we will have the opportunity to look, listen, reflect and intensely experience the beauty of our places ".

The opening of the Festival: space for the show "Jokes"

The opening of the Festival, on August 26th at Castle of Baia, is entrusted to Ascanio Celestini with the show "Jokes“, Taken from the book of the same name by the Roman writer and playwright.

Musical events at the Antra Festival

Second day of the Festival dedicated to music, with the event dedicated to Franz Schubert ofSergio Gaggia Association, “Der Wanderer“, Which includes the baritone Lars Grünwoldt and the pianist Andrea Rucli.

Music that returns as a protagonist even in closing, theSeptember 11th, Submerged Bay Park and Castle of Baia, with "The Harp“, By the association Zip Zones. The protagonist of the event is Kety Fusco, harpist who will interpret music from his latest album on a floating platform, complete with a drone that will broadcast the artist's performance in live streaming.

The theatrical events at the Phlegraean Fields Archaeological Park

Still theater, on August 28th, with "The journey of the Meschino“, Staged by the association Alter-Native Energies and taken from “Il Guerrin Meschino” by Gesualdo Bufalino, directed by Miriam Palma de Mallorca.

Il September 1th appointment to Castle of Baia for the play "Love, weapons: Aeneas, modern hero", Edited by Q Academy. And always at the Castello di Baia, the September 4th, goes on stage "Aeneid"Theatrical show by Publio Virgilio Marone by theCilento Arte Velia Theater Festival Association.

Il September 7th and the Teatro dell'Osso in Castle di Bay to present the traveling show "Women are monsters".

The theatrical performances continue thanks to Teatro il Pozzo and the Pendolo which goes on stage with "One Hundred Years of Solitude ”by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

The festival within the Festival

From the 1 5 to September the second edition of the FIRE, Enea's Route International Festival, edited byAeneas Route Association and recognized as the 45th Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.

The Festival wants to promote educational and scientific initiatives, with the addition of a touch of food and wine, with experts and the participation of schools.
