The 2017 Remote Future program in Naples, Piazza Plebiscito, with twelve thematic islands, laboratories and agora.
From 25 to 28 May 2017 will take place the XXXI edition of Futuro Remoto, at the Science Village in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples. It is a journey through science, technology, innovation, art and culture that will involve the entire scientific community of the country. The protagonists of the event will be businesses, political institutions, universities, research bodies, cultural institutions, schools and citizens.
To better understand the importance of this event we will have to remember the success of the previous edition that ended with more than 230.000 visitors, more than 550 representatives among research centers, university departments, public and cultural institutions, associations and companies, more than 5.000 volunteers among teachers, students and citizens available to visitors, 40 shows organized in the square, 11 large conferences, 14.000 events realized including laboratories, experiments and demonstrations, 20 international events.
This year the main theme of Futuro Remoto 2017 will be "Create connections“, A special occasion to make known the innovations and transformations promoted by our country and the results of research in the technological and scientific fields. There will be in the square laboratories, conferences, science shows and different themes will be addressed.
The thematic islands
The 2017 Remote Future event is dedicated to "create connections", That is, to strengthen the dialogue between the subjects that produce and promote culture, to cooperate, to nourish creativity, to support peace, to promote that vision of sharing that we want to propose as a prospect for sustainable development. For the islands of the new edition, twelve themes have been chosen:

Program of events and conferences
The activities that will take place at the Science Village they are based on interactivity and will allow visitors to discover the frontiers of scientific research, which is the fulcrum of success City of Science. Science at the Cinema
Scientists and experts of various disciplines starting from the vision of a film or a documentary will discuss, with the participants, on the scientific topic treated.

In a moment of outdoor celebration, dance performances, science shows, scientific speed dating, science games and musical improvisations could not be missing.
Great Conferences

Fab / Laboratories of art and crafts, creativity and making

Café Scientifique meetings and lessons in the square
During the event in the square there will be debates, academic lectures and informal meetings (for example scientific cafés and scientific speed dating).

Representatives from the world of research, businesses, schools and universities will be able to tackle challenges based on the ability to produce innovations and communicate in a clear, fun and engaging way.
Scientific laboratories
