A colorful parade for rights will animate the 2017 Gay Pride in Naples from Piazza Municipio as part of the Mediterranean Pride.

Il 24 June 2017 a Piazza Municipio of Naples will take place on Gay Pride - Mediterranean Pride of Naples for the claim and protection of the rights of the LGBT community, referring to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

The central theme this year will be the body, understood as the self-determination of the individual but also as an instrument of discrimination, prejudice, object of violence. Other important issues will be related to it such as sexual freedom, gender identity, the sensitization and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, sexuality for people with disabilities and the right to parenting of homosexual couples.
The other question will be that of the Mediterranean, that should act as a bridge of cultures and knowledge because it unites geographically distant peoples, but they share the same cultural imprint and therefore should learn to dialogue and live together peacefully.

The choice of Piazza Municipio is not causal because it is the symbol of Italian emigration, the reception and refusal of racism, but it is also the place where civil unions are finally celebrated.

In this perspective the logo of the parade will be a reworking of the Statue of the Nile, which rises in the heart of the city and is a Greco-Roman sculpture, which represents the divinity symbol of prosperity and well-being.
