Walking is good! Leave the cars behind and get ready for the second edition of Walking Day! In Naples, from via Foria to Capodimonte
Do you want to leave your car behind, even for just one day, behind public transport? A right opportunity could be there Walking Day 2013, to be held Sunday 13 October throughout Italy!
La Walking Day, of which the second edition is held this year, includes hundreds of initiatives organized in all cities and small urban centers, with the aim of making people understand the importance of pedestrian mobility in daily habits, both from the point of view of psychophysical well-being and as a form of sustainable mobility. In short, walking is good for you! Both to themselves and to the environment that surrounds us.
In this regard, the event was anticipated by some awareness raising activities in schools, to encourage walking to school. Among the promotional initiatives implemented: awareness raising on walking to work, promotion of Local Public Transport, car free born in the city of Milan, the role of “walking” as a new way of enjoying and discovering the urban spaces in which we live.
A Napoli la Walking Day is part of the event's program of events The Gentile Hill which, promoted by Legambiente / Neapolis 2000, the III Municipality and the Pro Loco of Capodimonte, provides a series of cultural events and guided tours in the district of Capodimonte and surroundings.
Tourist and cultural, interactive and "technological" paths, of participation and sustainable development, will aim to spread the sustainable mobility, renewable energies, the valorisation of cultural and environmental assets and of the resources of our territory, especially that of the Hill of Capodimonte, from Via Foria to Capodimonte.
The appointment, for those who want to participate in the Walking Day 2013, is Sunday 13 October in via Foria (former Garibaldi Barracks) at 10:30 am. The “smart” path includes the ascent of the Hill up to Capodimonte for the stairs of the Moiariello. A real “trekking” route during which we will talk about the sustainable urban regeneration of the territory and which will end with an exhibition of bijouttery, design and objects, and a reading of poems at the Moiariello.
At 18: 00 at Torre Palasciano, in the B&B La Torre di Rò Aperitif, musical strolling in the park with Daniela Fiorentino.
