Il 29 March 2023, Rai 1 will send a new one TV series which explores the life and exploits of one of the most famous pilots in Italian history: Francesco Baracca. On the occasion of the centenary of the establishment of the Italian Air Force, "The Sky Hunters" will lead us to the discovery of a national hero who, during the First World War, achieved the highest number of aerial victories among Italian pilots.
A Story of Courage and Determination
La TV series will show us the life of the pilot lieutenant of the Royal Army Francesco Baracca, interpreted by Beppe Fiorello. Thanks to his merits, Baracca will soon be promoted first to captain and then to major, assuming command of the Ninety-first Squadron.
With its charm, its culture and its belonging to a family of high lineage, Baracca becomes known as "Ace of Aces" for winning 34 aerial confrontations against enemies. His death, which took place alone 30 years during a mission on Montello, he aroused great emotion throughout Italy and made him a national hero.
"The Hunters of the Sky" is a single film of 130 minutes which, although it is considered a docu-fiction, combines the drama of fiction with documentary. Through this engaging mix, the fiction will lead us to discover the life and exploits of Francesco Baracca, offering an experience instructive and moving.
