An exciting story of the "Christmas Carol" at the Il Pozzo e il Pendolo theater in a magical and evocative atmosphere
As usual, even for these Christmas evenings will be represented at the theater Il Pozzo and the Pendolo an unprecedented and original version of the most famous Christmas story of all time: the Christmas song di Charles Dickens.
Spectators will be welcomed in a room transformed into a nineteenth-century living room and decorated for Christmas, in an intimate and cozy setting, and they will be offered some typical sweets of the holidays and hot chocolate, to recreate the most magical and evocative of Christmas atmospheres. Seated comfortably on armchairs complete with a cover to warm the legs, they will witness an engaging tale for two voices, one made of music, the other of words, which evokes the famous story of the old, arid and stingy Ebenezer Scrooge visited, during the Christmas night, by three spirits who will change his mind about life, human relationships and the meaning of Christmas.
Not everyone knows that the English writer Charles Dickens wrote the Christmas song in 1843 to remedy a period of economic crisis, to then be able to read it and represent it in the most prominent salons of the London nobility. The fantastic tale of him conquered everyone, and in a short time he restored the balance of his finances. His fame reached the court of Queen Victoria, who decided to invite him to Buckingham Palace to be able to enjoy this magical and suggestive experience too, with a few intimate aristocrats. But Dickens declined the invitation, because her Majesty should have invited him when fate was raging against him, in order to restore dignity and value, and not in a happier moment, when his story was told by him only for pleasure. .
However, the opportunity taken from the queen is returned to spectators from all over the world who, more than a century later, can still immerse themselves in the splendid and evocative words of Dickens and his Christmas song, a story written to be told ... (info on the show after the video)
