"The Great Water Show", a magical and evocative show made of lights, music and colors returns to the splendid San Pietro Park in Monteverde
In the heart of Irpinia, after a year's break, one of the most magical and evocative events of our region returns, able to enchant and leave anyone breathless, giving unique and intense emotions.
From 31 July to 30 August 2015, every night at 21: 30 (except Tuesday) you can attend Il Great Water Show, a unique event held for eight years a Monteverde, in the province of Avellino, in the splendid naturalistic oasis of Lake St. Peter, on the border between three regions, Basilicata, Puglia and Campania. Three regions that have been the background to the life of St. Gerard Majella, to which the suggestive show is dedicated.
Gerardo Maiella is known as the Saint of the Poor, and to his life completely dedicated to helping the poorest and weakest, the Foundation Together for ... has decided to organize and put on an extraordinary and impressive show, characterized by an incredible staging.
A scenography on the water
The Great Water Show he has one scenography built entirely on water, and is made up of the magic of lights and music, an engaging and numerous corps de ballet, and the extraordinary text that recounts the stages in the life of Gerardo Maiella, the holy friend of the poor, recited by the recorded narrative voices of Elena Sofia Ricci and Leo Gullotta.
Much more than a musical or a religious show, The Great Show of Acqua demonstrates the theatrical and artistic mastery, inspired by the impressive eighteenth-century theatrical machines reworked in a modern key, with which the water from the San Pietro dam was used to create the surprising scenic effects made of water, lights and colors.
Religion and solidarity, fascination suggestion, thus come together in an event, unique in Europe, where poetry and emotions intertwine on Lake San Pietro to illuminate the summer nights.
