"Il Nullafacente" is a site specific show on the paradox on the pursuit of happiness conceived for the spaces of the Madre Museum of Naples.
24 Saturday and Sunday, February 25 2018 will be on stage, in the spaces of the Mother Museum of Naples, the show The Nullable, presented in site-specific installation for the Re_pubblica madre room, located on the ground floor.
The Nullable, full title Knowing how to exist. A necessary need, is part of the artistic review Voices and others invisible, produced and curated by Casa del Contemporaneo and that includes 8 appointments designed to be hosted "off-site and out of time", in non-theatrical places but in museums and foundations of contemporary art, just like the Madre Museum in Naples.
Director of the show The Nullable è Roberto Bacci, while the author and actor is Michele Santeramo, one of the most important playwrights of the last generation. The text it is a reflection on the current man, "Nothing" because it does not want to act and react, emblem of the negation of established rules, economic, social and psychological.
The Nullable: a paradox on the pursuit of happiness
The story revolves around a couple who is no longer young, whose protagonist decides to face his wife's terminal illness with a total and radical inaction, for him the only sensible answer to the irremediable transience of life and the consequent futility of every human action. The "nothing" man decides to go against the current to respond in a revolutionary way to a life that would always require us all efficient and programmers of existence, an attitude that does not allow us to think about the things that really matter.
These extreme choices, and the terminal illness of his wife, will lead the two protagonists to the last door to cross, hand in hand, beyond which there is the nature of which we are made: the death.
"And yet, if we resist living in that darkness, we can see a light that at least a part of us needs to" know how to exist "".
With the show ticket, the public will be able to visit the Mother Museum from 16: 30 and the current exhibitions, such as Pompeii @ Mother. Archaeological matter.
