The De Filippo Brothers Park di Ponticelli is reborn thanks to the approval of the executive project for its redevelopment with funds equal to 500 thousand euros from the Strategic Plan of the Metropolitan City. A whole series of will be made interventions to return this special place to the citizens.
The park was built between the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties and appears to be the third largest park in the city, in fact it extends for 12 hectares, Divided into three large areas.
The first area is the one paved with flowerbeds, the second area hosts the terraces of urban gardens, while the third it has artificial hills and is the area most subject to fires.
What the project foresees
The redevelopment project will only concern the first area of the Fratelli De Filippo Park. Here in fact the area presents itself degraded with damaged benches and steps. The grass areas are now dry due to the malfunction of the irrigation system, and the play area now closed as unusable for children.
The project involves the construction of bathrooms that can be used by both park users and market area users, the replacement of one of the two fountains with an innovative ornamental vaporizer system, the irrigation system will be restored and the whole area will be cleared.
Plants that are now dead and diseased will be demolished, will also work onlighting with the restoration of the power cables of the lighting points and 50 and 70 watt high pressure sodium vapor discharge lamps will be installed. And above all, some will also be installed security cameras to monitor the entire facility.
The playground will also reopen
It will also be reopened the play area for all the little ones, but not only as it will be furnished with brand new elements that we are sure will attract the attention of the children.
The flooring will be covered in such a way that it has shock absorbing characteristics, it will also be antislip, non-toxic, wear resistant and quick drying after the rain. The new rides will ensure that children can develop their own physical abilities, social, cognitive and logical. The space will be accessible to everyone, even to people with disabilities thanks to theremoval of architectural barriers.
The Municipality has foreseen approx 325 days of work to complete all the interventions that are planned, we therefore look forward to the result!
