Maurizio Casagrande and Tosca D'Aquino protagonists of the famous comedy by Neil Simon "The prisoner of the second street" staged at the Diana Theater

It will be on stage from the 12 to the 23 February 2014 al Teatro Diana of Naples the show The prisoner of the second streeta, which will have as protagonists Maurizio Casagrande e Tosca D'Aquino, directed by Giovanni Anfuso.

The text is taken from a work by the famous American playwright Neil Simon written in 1971, which also became a film in 1975, starring Jack Lemmon and Anne Bancroft as the leading spouses. The story is very topical, even if set in the New York of the 70s, in an apartment on Second Street, and tells of a small family attacked by the economic crisis.

Mel (Maurizio Casagrande) is a small honest man, while his wife Edna (Tosca D'Aquino) is a courageous and enterprising woman. He is struggling with a real one nervous crisis due to the temperature of a warm summer evening, from a broken air conditioner and perpetually stationary to 4 degrees, from the faulty toilet flushing, from noisy neighbors, barking dogs and neighbors who complain of his complaining.

In short, nothing goes in the right direction for Mel, manager of a company for 22 years e fired in the trunk suddenly, but who does not have the courage to tell his wife, choosing to withdraw into his neuroses that cause him annoying gastritis. Until, he icing on the cake, they don't arrive the thieves to rob the house, and is forced to confess everything to Edna, because now they have remained without money or clothes.

Between hilarious and paradoxical situations, in a tragicomic crescendo, we witness the continuous misadventures of the protagonist, who is convinced to rely on the care of an eccentric therapist, and his wife, who, ironically, also loses her job as a secretary. But they will soon be convinced that love is much more important and stronger than the lack of money, work and water.
