Meeting with Feltrinelli journalist Marco Travaglio who will present his latest book on President Giorgio Napolitano
Marco Travaglio, one of the best known Italian journalists currently, both for the books and articles he proposes, and for his participation in television talk shows, has started a tour to present his latest work.
Is titled "Long live the king! Giorgio Napolitano the president who found a Republic and made it into a monarchy ”and, as can easily be deduced, addresses the delicate issue of the behavior of our President of the Republic within the institutions and towards the concept of democracy.
Travaglio will present him in Naples the next 4 February at the headquarters of Feltrinelli of Piazza dei Martiri. His is an excursus on what were, in his opinion, the President's erroneous behavior as not aligned with what should be a democracy. Napolitano's is defined as “a vision veterocomunista of Democracy ”and the journalist carefully analyzes all the occasions in which it has begun to“ go out of its tracks ”and“ to overflow from its banks ”.
Travaglio tells the story counterstory the head of state, the first to have twice held that role, deepening issues such as the state-Mafia negotiation, the Lodo Alfano, the electoral law, the revision of the Constitution and the controversies against the magistrates.
A delicate and detailed book, which certainly does not have the soft and feel-good tones that most of the press dedicates to the political situation of our country. We will be able to find out more during the February appointment.
