Free entrance to the Sansevero Chapel for the end of the road works with new design and benches with power outlets and USB!
Tuesday 6 December 2016 there will be theextraordinary free opening for all the citizens of the stupendous San Severo Chapel where you can admire the statue of Veiled Christ.
The opportunity arises from presentation of the new road near the Chapel, a street that takes on a new look thanks to the redevelopment works started on November 10 and realized by the Chapel itself. Specifically, let's talk about the stretch between via Francesco De Sanctis and via Raimondo de Sangro. The works were foreseen by the resolution of the Municipality “Adopt a road” thanks to which private subjects can take over a public area.
At the same time, the old prescriptions will be implemented which provide for the inclusion of cars on the streets in front of the Chapel.
Free admission to the chapel will be possible from 17.30 am to 20.30 pm.
The new road
From these days of December, therefore, the road will have a completely new design, welcoming and functional at the same time. In this way, both citizens and tourists will be able to better enjoy the area and improve the experience of visiting the Sansevero Chapel which, in this way, will start from the outside.
The presentation of the project to the press and residents will be at the Church of San Domenico Maggiore at, 16.00, while the cutting of the ribbon the 6 December will take place at 17.15 in via Francesco De Sanctis. In this way it will be possible to admire the results of the work and the new design: there will be new illuminated bodies, planters, waste collection containers and modern and elegant benches. In fact, they will be equipped with power outlet and USB connection to recharge electronic devices (smartphone, pc, tablet or other). The pavement of lava stone was also rearranged.
As mentioned, the area will be closed to cars and the new one Pedestrian area will safeguard even more the area in front of the Chapel.
