The Abruzzo painter Gennaro Della Monica will be honored with an exhibition in his honor in the exhibition rooms of Castel Dell'Ovo

In the exhibition rooms of the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples, an exhibition tribute to the painter Gennaro Della Monica.

The painter from Abruzzo was inspired, for his artistic production, to French impressionists and the Tuscan Macchiaioli. The choice of evocative landscapes that must envelop the reality, the use of bright colors without mixing them, art intended as a means of transmitting emotions, make Della Monica a modern avant-garde artist. He was also an appreciated sculptor, as well as architect and director of works for the rrealization of a medieval village from the complex architectural structure.

The exhibition wants to underline the link that the painter had with the Neapolitan Art Academy and with the Resin School, also called the Republic of Portici, of Marco De Gregorio (who became a fraternal friend) to which he adhered and of which he married the cause of search for the 'true poetic' who entrusted to art the study from life, the immediacy of the impression and the use of pure colors similar to that of the Macchiaioli.

Della Monica photographed in his paintings la enchanting beauty of some landscapes of Italy between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
An Italy that seems to no longer exist, almost disfigured by the ugliness of contemporary society.
