An exhibition of paintings by the artist Vanni Rinaldi inspired by the three canticles of Dante's Divine Comedy

La Divine Comedy is the fundamental literary work of Italian culture which, even after centuries, represents a source of inspiration for many artists who have often paid homage Dante Alighieri and its Comedy transforming it into a play, recital, performance or opera. All these unpublished versions maintain the original meaning and essence of the work, while distorting it in its classical forms.

July 18th - 31th 2014 it will be possible to attend, in Naples, a Divine Comedy transfigured in a cycle of paintings and illustrations made by Vanni Rinaldi, Italian contemporary artist, and exposed to Castel dell'Ovo, in a kermesse with the title Comedy in art: homage to Dante and the land of fire.

Rinaldi he was the first to make the gesture of facing Dante's world in its complexity and entirety, interpreting in his own way the three canticles and one hundred songs of the poem over the course of a ten-year work. The artist thus becomes the interpreter of Dante's universe, expressing his own "vision" of the imaginary of Divine Comedy through visionary paintings, characterized by surrealistic echoes or informal suggestions, ranging from the "Nouvelle Figuration" to the so-called existential realism.

To support the works of Vanni Rinaldi those equally suggestive of Demet Kisiltas, characterized by the same creative "fire", capable of reviving the impetus and force of nature through the incandescent magma of volcano, a fire that is both vital energy and devastating fury.

An exhibition, which can be visited from 18 to 31 July 2014 in Castel dell'Ovo, which demonstrates the relevance of Dante's work and which underlines the cultural commitment of artists and poets, from which we can draw inspiration to reflect on the values of our life and the time in which we live.
