The Laziale Gallery in Naples closes because of the falling of debris. The forecast is 30 days and the buses deviate the route.

Updated: the Laziale Gallery will reopen on Saturday 25 November, but the same will be activated on double direction of travel in the Galleria Quattro Giornate.

Bad news for the citizens of Naples who have to move from Fuorigrotta to Mergellina because the Galleria Laziale that connects the two areas is closed from the night between 11 and 12 November 2017.

The cause is to be found in the fall of some debris, collapse reported by a motorist and which immediately made it necessary to close the Lazio Gallery. Of course this situation immediately created traffic chaos blocking via Giulio Cesare.

The Gallery it will be reopened as soon as the affected area is secured since the fall of debris and Monday morning, the November 13, a safer decision should be taken and the new traffic plan will also be decided.

The diverted buses

Even the buses will not be able to cross the gallery and limit the rides. Here are the details:

  • 151: from Piazza Garibaldi to Fuorigrotta limits the race to Piazza Sannazzaro, via G.Bruno and its own route
  • R7 and 618: limit respectively in Piazzale Tecchio and Cumana
  •  C12: from via Picasso towards piazza Vittoria limits the race in via C.Duilio, Piazza Italia, Viale Augusto, Via A.Doria, Piazza MAColonna, Via Leopardi, Via Arlotta, Via N.Bixio, Via Consalvo, Via Cassiodoro and its own route

Alternative roads

To reach Mergellina from Fuorigrotta, alternatively:

  • via Caravaggio - via Manzoni - via Orazio
  • via the new Cinthia - Tangenziale di Napoli towards Capodichino - exits to the center area
  • via Diocleziano - viale Cavalleggeri d'Aosta - via Pasquale Leonardi Cattolica - descent Coroglio - via Posillipo
