The San Martino festival: Chestnuts and Wine in Capitignano (Salerno)

An appointment to taste autumn flavors at a famous location: the village of Capitignano. We are talking about "San Martino: Chestnuts and Wine" which returns with its ninth edition, much awaited after the years of hiatus due to the pandemic. The event will take place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 November and we hope it can hold up to river of people who forced the Roccamonfina festival to close.

The event will take place in the aforementioned village, some craft stands, but also spaces dedicated to something else. Before talking about the good food, we underline that the party also includes many others organisers' activities such as the lottery of San Martino, in competition of the local Novello, historical re-enactments in period costumes, guided tours, music and even shows for children such as that of puppets.

The central focus of this appointment food and wine tourism and the castagna accompanied by a good wine local, but there will also be many other typical of the area that will delight the palates of visiting guests.

The menu of the Festival

Zti with chop, cavatelli with beans and chestnuts, sizzling, sandwiches with broccoli and sausages, spleen, curd and caciocavallo hanged, artisan desserts with hazelnuts and chestnuts, roasted chestnuts and country wine. As desserts we will also find the crepes, calzoncelli with Pericina Pear

Furthermore, in addition to taste every evening these typical dishes, the event makes available the famous lunch Sunday starting at 12:30, at the symbolic cost of 12 euros.
