Naples will host the third stage of the 2014 Skydive XCat Offshore World Championship with Maradona as exceptional testimonial
Il Waterfront of Naples will once again host in its waters an important and prestigious international event: the World Championship of Offshore XCAT World Series 2014 with the patronage of the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples.
It is a sports motorboat tournament which mainly brings together lovers of extreme sports. In fact, the XCAT World Series is considered the most extreme of races of its kind, mainly because very powerful catamarans participate, with hulls from two engines and capable of reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour.
Among the competing teams, there will also be "Al & Al", led byNeapolitan entrepreneur Alfredo Amato who will sail to bring Italian pilots to the podium.
Naples will host the third stage of the Championship and will do so from 23 to 25 May 2014, in the stretch that goes from the American Consulate up to Viale Dohrn, affecting the waters that start from Mergellina and arrive at Castel dell'Ovo.
The real surprise for the Neapolitans, however, will not only be the chance to host such an important championship for the first time, but above all the presence of the champion Diego Armando Maradona.
In fact, Maradona will be present during the competition days as testimonials and to support the 13 team who will compete. According to the Vice President of the WPPA, Dr. Khalid Al Zahed, the presence of the former Argentine footballer will give that extra fibrillation that will do well to the Neapolitan stage.
To underline the importance of the Skydive Offshore Championship will be the fact that it will be filmed by the Dubai Sport TV broadcaster and broadcast on the whole world television circuit and, thereafter, for 12 months on Emirates airline flights and other international media.
This new international event will be another excellent opportunity for Naples to enhance the prestige of their locations, to attract and increase tourism, to promote the international level excellences throughout the Campania region (historical-artistic, natural, gastronomic, manufacturing), but also to encourage the activation of cultural, institutional and economic partnerships especially in view of the realization of the EXPO 2020 event to be held in Dubai.
The final stage will be disputed a Dubai the 13 of December.
The Village
In addition to the competition area and the technical area reserved for teams and their technicians, as well as the authorities, a Village open to the public which will develop from the Rotonda Diaz. Inside there will be areas of entertainment, entertainment, awards, projections on a giant screen and exhibition areas with a gazebo.
Particular attention will also be given to the little ones, in fact a play area will be set up in which the children will be able to create drawings depicting the event in the prize competition reserved for them. With them, there will be numerous animators.
In addition, a Campus of Health with the aim of promoting health prevention and protection, set up with field tents for specialist clinics and modular gazebos, for information and booking of visits.
