Massimo Ranieri on stage at the Diana Theater with the Viviani Variety show

The theater and music of Raffaele Viviani relive on the stage of the Diana Theater with the performance of Massimo Ranieri

Massimo Ranieri brings to the stage of the Diana Theater in Naples a musical show dedicated to the Neapolitan theater actor, poet, playwright and composer Raffaele Viviani.

We are in 1929 and the company of actors of the manager Viviani decides to cross the ocean, to bring his variety shows to Latin America. Massimo Ranieri, in the role of the protagonist, puts on stage, through music and words, the long journey to Buenos Aires "Tour Viviani", on the steamer Duilio on which the company tested the show destined to make fortune overseas.

Massimo Ranieri thus tells us about the birth of the first "total theater", made up of prose, music, song, dance and poetry, which saw the first debut, on the third class of the Duilio, with the audience of emigrants embarked on the ship to celebrate the night of the passage of the 'Equatore, bringing together street urchins, street vendors, prostitutes and poor people in front of the "popular variety".

Viviani's best-known melodies, and her gallery of portraits in music, are sung in acoustics, accompanied live by the orchestra, by Ranieri and the entire cast of actors, to music by Pasquale Scialò and directed by Maurizio Scaparro.
