From the teasing of Antonino Cannavacciuolo to Bruno Barbieri hosted by Iginio Massari, up to the very insidious Pressure Test that made the first victim, here's what happened during the third episode of Masterchef 12, which aired yesterday Thursday December 29, 2022.
Dizzying moments a 12 Masterchef where yesterday, during the third episode, the contestants found each other none other than Iginio massari, one of the Italian kings of pastry, as an honorary judge instead of Bruno Barbieri.
Barbieri, who had to hide behind the scenes and was able to return to the role of judge at the end of the competition, was teased by the Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo who, from his position, said to him:
"I see you, evil dwarf"
But this was only the first point scored by an exciting episode that kept all cooking enthusiasts in suspense until the very end.
Maestro Iginio Massari unleashes the tension
The presence of the Master Iginio Massari, as expected, triggers panic among the participants, who in fact presents a Golden Mystery nightmarish: the choice is between a savory dish featuring chocolate or a dessert of their own creation for the 20 aspiring chefs in the competition.
Letizia, Edoardo, Ollivier and Francesco pass the test. To them, on the recommendation of the Master Massari, are also added Mattia, Francesco, Ivana, Francesca and Bubu.
Nothing to do instead for Lavinia and Nicola, who compromise the test with their attitude and, for this reason, come sent to the Invention Test along with the others.
'SInvention Test, Massari asks aspiring chefs about prepare a dish featuring bread and tomato. Two ingredients considered "poor" and "simple" and, therefore, very insidious.
Sarah and Luciana turn out to be the best of the Invention Test, and for this reason they become brigade leaders, while having to wear the black apron for the dreaded Pressure Test è Lavinia.
External test in Bassano del Grappa: here's how it went
Soon after the aspiring chefs went to Bassano del Grappa for the first test outdoors, where they found to welcome them Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo, Giorgio Locatellic e Antonio Lorenzon, ninth Italian Masterchef who for 15 minutes supports the brigade of only 9 members formed by Luciana.
The protagonist of the test is the white asparagus, a gentle vegetable with a bitter-sweet taste, which must conquer the palate of 35 diners.
Luciana chooses the blue team menu, also making use of the help By Lorenzo, while the remaining 10 members form the red team.
Despite the advantage given by the presence of the ninth Italian Masterchef, the winner is the red team, which manages to convince diners with the appetizer, the pasta sauce and the idea of the side dish of the second course that has been able to give that extra touch of freshness.
Masterchef 12: the elimination of the third episode is Luciana Battistini
Back in the studio, the former members of the blue team must face, together with Lavinia, pressure test.
Bruno Barbieri, back in the guise of competition judge, dressed in black presents the test: the perfect replica of mashed potatoes Joel Robuchon, the most starred chef ever for whom Locatelli himself also worked.
To pass the test is Edoardo, which to get as close as possible to Robuchon's puree passed three times, leaving the judges open-mouthed. The young chef wins a seat on the balcony.
The worst are Lavinia and Luciana, but in the end, between the two, the chefs decide to give another chance to Lavinia and to delete Luciana Battistini, the oldest contestant of 12 Masterchef:
