Initially it seemed like a related problem with the work in progress at Roma Termini, which we remember to be scheduled from 10 October to 26 November, which led to the cancellation of numerous regional ones, but it soon turned out to be anything but.
Due to an active fault by 8: 30 and a subsequent one of the 17:00 of 13 October 2022, rail transport will suffer considerable delay along multiple long-distance lines, both high-speed, intercity and regional.
Apparently the first breakdown, which occurred early in the morning, happened on the Casoria area, but Trenitalia has not issued a statement specifying the causes, which are currently unknown.
The travel times of trains along that route, therefore long-distance, will suffer further delays as follows:
- Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and all lines high speed: up to 30 minutes late
- Intercity very long distance: over 60 minutes late
- Regional e Intercity medium distance: up to 60 minutes late
Delays also on the Metro Line 2 of Naples
The second fault also involved part of the lines at Central Naples currently being repaired by technicians.
This delay therefore involves the Subway 2 Line of Naples, being the same under the management of Trenitalia and present on the same lines.
The delay on the line currently reaches up to 60 minutes.
Faults resolved and problem returned?
During the day of 14 October, through an official Trenitalia press release, the resumption of all TAV activities was notified with the return of any delay on the high-speed lines.
The state of the regional, intercity and metro lines is still unclear, but it seems that the delays have significantly reduced.
