Metro Line 2, stop for works from 19 to 27 August
The month of August is about to bring a not exactly pleasant news for those who use the Subway line 2 in Naples. A period of forced stop for work maintenance looms on the horizon, with possible complications for travel.
But let's see together what is about to happen and how best to organize ourselves.
When will it stop there Subway 2 Line of Naples?
Take note: from 23pm on 00th August until 19am on 4th August, Line 2 will suffer interruptions due to construction works seismic strengthening and waterproofing. A small summer break, just in time to test the patience of those traveling for work or tourism.
Which routes will be closed?
The forced stop will not be uniform across the board. The affected areas are specific and include:
- The subway outage between Naples San Giovanni Barra and Naples Campi Flegrei.
- The limitation of some trains on the lines Salerno – Naples Campi Flegrei, Caserta – Naples Campi Flegrei, and Central Annunziata Tower / Castellammare di Stabia - Naples Campi Flegrei.
- Further work in the stretch between Naples Gianturco and Naples San Giovanni Barra. It sounds like a nice puzzle, but fear not, there are solutions in sight.
Alternatives and substitute services
Those who worried about getting stuck can breathe a sigh of relief. Not all is lost, on the contrary! Strategies will be put in place to facilitate travel:
- Un shuttle service every 15 minutes between Central Naples and Naples San Giovanni Barra.
- Extra rides every hour for Naples Gianturco, in keeping with the trains to and from Salerno.
- The part of the Line 2 between Naples Campi Flegrei and Pozzuoli/Villa Literno will remain regular. In short, a small hitch, but with a little organization, everything can be overcome. Have a good trip!
