A journey to discover the undergrounds of the Fontana dell'Esedra of the Mostra d'Oltremare, one of the most beautiful in the world

Sunday November 16 2014 for the first time Mostra d'Oltremare will open to the public the underground plumbing systems of the Fontana dell'Esedra, one of the most spectacular in the world.

An opportunity not to be missed to cross the tunnels along which the hydraulic systems are developed that feed one of the most beautiful fountains in the world, 240 meters long, 20 meters wide, in addition to the development of the 74 basins of the exedra, for a total area of about 9000 square meters of tanks. Among the hydraulic systems subject to the restoration and refurbishment of the fountain and the very long pipes and pumps capable of producing jets of water up to 40 meters high, it is also possible to explore part of the original systems dating back to the 40s, and no longer functioning.

The initiative will take place after the presentation of the international guide "Unusual and secret Naples" by Valerio Ceva Grimaldi and Maria Franchini and the photographer Fernando Pisacane (Jonglez editions), which will be held at the restaurant of the exhibition pool. An entire chapter of the book was dedicated to the Monumental Fair and its treasures. A guided tour will follow to discover the most "unusual and secret" places of the Mostra d'Oltremare.
