Guided tour with music on the notes of the musical tradition in the Museum of the Underground of Naples. Discovering the underground refuge of the Second World War
La traditional music will be the great protagonist of the evening organized at the Museum of the Underworld of Naples in collaboration with the Terramia - Assodipendenti Association and the Amalfi Coast Mandolin Association.
The event Music and History in the Underground will be held Saturday 13 July from 18: 30 and it will brighten one guided tour of music inside the cavities and tufaceous tunnels of Museum of the Underworld on the notes of the guitar and the mandolin that will evoke the emotions and traditions of our land.
Visitors will be transported on a journey back in time, inside what was originally an air-raid shelter that saved thousands of lives during the Second World War and is now reborn as Museum of the Underworld.
Many people succeeded, thanks to the presence of this underground passage, to carry on their families despite the disasters of the war that continued on the surface and the complete destruction of their houses.
The itinerant itinerary of the museum will unfold for different stages that will tell the story of life during the Second World War, fragments of the daily life of "not illustrious men", all on the suggestive notes of two stringed instruments typical of the Neapolitan tradition: the mandolin (Carla Senese) and the guitar Nicola Giglio).
The stories of history accompanied by music will evoke the frightened and disoriented moods of those who, sixty years ago, found themselves quickly abandoning their home to save their lives under the bombing.
To create the background music for the Music and History in the Underground event will be theAmalfi Coastal Mandolinistic Association, which has been operating for years with the aim of creating a combination of classical music such as that of Bellini or Beethoven, and popular and folkloric music, promoting the art of the mandolin by recovering the scores never performed from the past and creating, at the same time, compositions from scratch.
With Music and History of the Underground the Association will stage notes and words of prestigious authors of the past to raise public awareness of the discovery of the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Naples.
