At the Teatro Sannazaro in Naples there will be an appointment with the charity play Na Santarella. It is a comedy of Eduardo Scarpetta, written in 1889 and it was performed for the first time at the Sannazaro Theater on May 15th of the same year.
On stage the actors belonging to the Unstable Theater Company, Circolo Canottieri Naples; the appointment is for May 21st at 21:00 and for Sunday May 22 at 18:00.
The plot of 'Na Santarella
The protagonist of Eduardo Scarpetta's comedy is Happy Sciosciammocca, who finds himself living a double life, in fact, during the day he is busy at the Convent of the Rondinelle where he plays sacred music and teaches music to the boarders, at night instead, secretly from the nuns he leaves the convent to perform in the theaters of Naples, under the pseudonym of Arthur Maletti with his operetta The emperor's daughter.
Soon however, his secret is discovered by Nannina a saucy educator nicknamed goodie. The latter's uncle decides to marry her to the lieutenant Eugene Poretti, Nannina, however, remains unaware of everything.
It will be Felice Sciosciammocca to accompany her to her future husband, but Nannina blackmails Felice, telling him that if he does not take her to the Teatro del Fondo where her own operetta will be staged, she will reveal her secret to everyone. But here it happens that Cesira, the first woman of the show, gets jealous in the presence of Nannina and leaves the show, being replaced by the latter.
Eventually Eugenio Poretti, seeing Nannina acting, falls in love with her and the show will be a great success.
