The Goerge Best in Naples has organized an event entirely dedicated to Northern Soul, transforming it into “Southern” for one evening
"The Southern Side of Northern Soul" is the theme of the musical event to be held at the George Best (ex Sudterranea) in Naples on November 2, 2013. This is the only event entirely dedicated to soul music that takes place in southern Italy and is organized by the "Ass 'and Mazz' Soul Club".
It is a musical genre that became known in Northern England in the 60s and is one of the few to have coined its name (Northern) from the place where it was danced, rather than from where it originated. Between the '60s and' 70s it was a huge success, characterized by a very fast pace mainly influenced by American soul and R&B music.
For one evening, therefore, this typically "northern" genre turns into "southern”In the George Best of Naples.
