Eighth edition of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, with 60 scheduled shows and an exceptional location: Castel Sant'Elmo

From the 3 28 2015 June the art of theater, in all its forms, will once again involve the city of Naples, thanks to the well-established kermesse Naples Theater Festival Italy 2015.

60 shows scheduled for this eighth edition of the festival chaired by Luigi Grispello, who succeeded Luca De Fusco who left the direction of the Festival this year.

There are many interesting news on this year's program, enriched by 30 shows of the young companies of the Fringe Festival, and that provides 30 national premieres, 10 foreign jobs and 6 dance performances. Thanks to the magic of the theater, like every year, there will be many locations in our city involved in the festival, even places that are not commonly "theatrical", transformed for the occasion into dramatic and expressive spaces.

It will be splendid Castel Sant'Elmo the privileged frame of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia 2015, in particular three areas of this suggestive place from which you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the city: Piazza d'Armi, Sala Cannoni and the Auditorium. Some will be held in the castle meetings with actors and critics of the festival and special guided tours of the monumental complex to retrace the history of the Castle, from a medieval fortress to a center dedicated to contemporary art. In the Museo del Novecento, which houses works of contemporary art by Neapolitan artists or those who worked in Naples, some readings will take place, offering the possibility to personalities from the world of culture and entertainment to relate to the most vivid testimonies of Neapolitan artistic history of past decades.

Another special location town ready to host one of the Festival's shows, Afrodita and el juicio de Paris, made by a Catalan company, it will be the Mostra d'Oltremare. 6 theaters where you can attend the performances of the festival: Sala Assoli, Teatro Nuovo, Teatro Mercadante, Politeama, Galleria Toledo, Teatro Bellini.

Il Naples Theater Festival 2015 the 3nd June with the French show La douceur perméable de la rosée, curated by the Neapolitan choreographer Paco Dècina, passionate about energy research, and will end on 27 and 28 June with a double show at Castel Sant'Elmo: Sonata for Commissioner Ricciardi, from a story by Maurizio de Giovanni, interpretation and direction by Andrea Renzi, e The method, a comedy about the cruel world of work by Jordi Galceran with Giorgio Pasotti.

La Douceur perméable de la roséand sees as protagonist the sweetness of nature, remedy and antithesis to the violence of our society. Passionate about research on energy, frequencies and rhythms, the choreographer Paco Dècina immersed himself in this pristine garden to listen to the force of silence.

Cold sweats
by Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac, directed by Giancarlo Sepe

Giancarlo Sepe chose to be inspired by two prolific writers, Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac, better known as Boileau-Narcejac, who wrote about forty novels between 1952 and 1991 including masterpieces of noir, adventures of Arsenio Lupine, a series of yellow books for children.

Pierpaolo Sepe has chosen to stage chough by the British writer Sarah Kane: "The text has four characters: A, B, C and M. According to the title implies, the work speaks of a longed-for desire and alludes to the fact that what we crave most can be the same thing that paralyzes us emotionally".

Russia it is a sort of road movie through the vast lands of Siberia. In a suspended and mysterious atmosphere, the show, in which the only element of the scene is an old Volvo sedan, investigates the fear, with the same ambiguous suspense of some films by David Lynch.

White on White
written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, with Helena Bittencourt and Goos Meeuwsen

White on white is the new show by Daniele Finzi Pasca, one of the most interesting choreographers on the international scene. On stage two acrobats move with lightness building tragicomic situations, stories always in balance between a sweet and nostalgic absurdity, a surreal world, fiercely serene, a theater that reflects on itself, where the illusion and the artifices are always revealed at the end , where one laughs and gets moved, where the clowns do not embody the stupidity but the fragility of the losing heroes.

Written in the 1750 The coffee shop is one of Carlo Goldoni's best known comedies. Located in the center of the square, the shop of the title is a meeting place for habitual and passing patrons, it is the idea of ​​a microcosm in which various dynamics are created between the characters, who fight, help each other and take an interest in other people's issues .

Malacqua
by Nicola Pugliese, adapted by Armando Pugliese

"This is a book that has a sense and a strength and a communicative". With these words Italo Calvino expressed himself to comment on the text to the Einaudi publishing house which then published it. Malacqua, whose subtitle is "Four days of rain in the city of Naples waiting for an extraordinary event to occur ", it will be staged by the author's brother, Armando Pugliese.

In the 2013 the Festival had hosted La Réunification des deux Corées by Joël Pommerat. One of the most interesting authors on the international scene had brought to Naples a show that, to the detriment of the enigmatic title, simply spoke of love: the political division of the two Koreas, in fact, was nothing more than a metaphor to question the difficulties of union of two soul mates.

The text Rituccia by Fortunato Calvino is inspired by Napoli Milionaria by Eduardo De Filippo. In fact, Rituccia is the youngest daughter of the Jovine family, the sick child for whom "Adda passes" to a nuttata ".

The myth of Cassandra relives on the stage in this new show by Laura Angiulli. In mythology Apollo falls in love with Cassandra and to obtain her love he gives her the gift of prophecy. However, when she refuses to indulge, Apollo spits on her lips condemning her to remain forever unheard. In this show three actresses give voice to the poetic materials dedicated to this myth.
