The well-known science popularizer Alberto Angela inaugurated his broadcast “Noos – The Exploration of Knowledge” il 29 June 2023. This television programme, designed to explore and examine various facets of science, wants to be an extension of the legacy of the famous "Superquark", a project conceived by Alberto's father, Piero Angela.
The series has conquered viewers and now reaches the last episode, or the sixth, on the air Thursday 3 August 2023.
Because it's called Noos, name meaning
The title "noos” (pronounced “nos”) comes from a ancient form of the Greek term “nous”, denoting “intellect” or “knowledge,” symbolizing the discovery and acquisition of new information and ideas. The inspiration for the name of the program comes from the show of 1998, "Journey to the Cosmos", in which Piero Angela explored the universe aboard a spaceship call "noos".
What is Noos about?
Modeled on his father's work, Alberto Angela intends to spread the science with the same authority, clarity and involvement, enriching the summer prime time of Rai 1. "Noos", despite being a new means of dissemination, retains the same crew of Superquark.
The program will also feature astronaut partnerships Samantha Cristoforettthe journalist specializing in geopolitics, Dario Fabbri. The participation of these experts will allow to explore topics such as space, the distribution of global resources and the related geopolitical consequences.
