An impressive concert with 20 bronze bells will brighten up 2015 Easter to the Church of Santa Chiara

The Department of Tourism of Naples, in collaboration with Percussioni Ketoniche and the Pontifical Foundry Marinelli, organized for Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April 2015 at 17.00, in the courtyard of the Church of Santa Chiara, a double concert of bells entitled Bell and Sonus.

The protagonists of the event will be 20 bronze bells  intonate that, accompanied by percussions, metals and images, will give life to a new and innovative musical sound, which aims to enhance the bells of the city bell towers, including the bell of the Church of Santa Chiara, whose bell tower very early will reopen to the public.

The musical repertoire will be composed of suggestive pieces of the early Middle Ages, since it was in this period that church bells were introduced in Europe as a means of communicating a message to the people, almost as if it were the divine voice speaking.

In this special concert, however, the bells become the main musical instrument, abandoning the habitual religious dress and, through sounds, light effects and images, suggest the vision of a burning river of molten bronze, which symbolically represents the incandescent lava of Vesuvius, which runs down fast to fill the empty shape that will shape the Bell.

This event will also be the prelude to an important one festival of the bells of the 2016.
