The first world festival celebrating Neapolitan Pizza Verace, with artistic and gastronomic events in 400 pizzerias in the world!
From the 27 30 May 2014 many cities of the world will unite in the name of the true Neapolitan pizza Verace! Well 400 pizzerias, from Naples to New York, from Tokyo to Sao Paulo, will celebrate with cultural, artistic and gastronomic events 30 years of the True Neapolitan Pizza Association (AVPN) which, for the occasion, has organized a real Pizza Festival.
Il Pizzafestival 2014 it will therefore not have a single location, but will take place at the same time in several pizzerias scattered throughout the world belonging to "friends" of the Neapolitan Pizza Verace, giving rise to a real "widespread" festival of international scope. The Pizzafestival is the first major global event that values the Pizza Napoletana in the place where it was born and where it continues to have its highest expression of quality: the pizzeria.
Antonio Pace, president of the AVPN, said: "To celebrate the thirty years of the association we will propose an innovative formula compared to the past, adding to the pleasure of eating a good Neapolitan pizza musical representations, meetings and tastings that will take place in the pizzerias".
Previews of the Pizzafestival 2014 - Workshops and educational tours
Before the big event will be held from 8 to 25 May, in different places of Naples, of the side events and initiatives which will involve citizens in the art of true Neapolitan pizza.
In fact, one will be organized Educational and promotional tour partito from Piazza del Plebiscito where, workshops have been set up for adults and children on the preparation of pizza according to the canons of tradition. These are the next stages of the delicious tour:

From 27 to 29 May in Piazza Dante at 10 a conference will be held "Starting again from 30" in which, experts in gastronomy and marketing will scrutinize the future of the sector, in particular on the topics of pizza preparation and marketing.
Also in Piazza Dante, in the days of the kermesse, will be set up the Pizza Workshop, where you can study and appreciate the quality of Neapolitan pizza and learn about the products of the food chain and the correct combinations that contribute to the international fame of the dish.
Best AVPN 2014 Contest
Il Pizzafestival it will also be an opportunity to be able to vote for the best place, among the 400 present in the world, which most represents the True Neapolitan Pizza, evaluating the quality of the pizza, customer service, the environment and the selection of ingredients.
You can vote on the official website of the Pizzafestival, and each person can vote for 3 pizzerias. The contest will end on May 21, when the final ranking of the will be visible 30 top rated pizzerias. From that moment on, a technical jury will take over, made up of journalists from the food and wine field, which will decide the winner among the top 5 classified pizzerias.
La award ceremony of the winning pizzeria Will be held the 26st May during the "Ricomincio da 30" press conference which will be held in Piazza Dante in Naples starting from 10:00.
The "streets" of the Pizzafestival
Il Pizzafestival will include a series of gastronomic events that will take place in all the pizzerias affiliated with AVPN, but above all in the famous Neapolitan pizzerias.
The calendar of the Pizzafestival was structured on the basis of "roads" and thematic and eno-gastronomic itineraries able to meet the needs of all palates and thematically divided into:
- The Road of Tradition
- The Road of Art and Creativity
- The Strada della Birra
- The Wine Route
- The Bubbles Route
- The Strada del Pomodoro and the Campana specialties
For each route are listed the pizzerias who adhere to it in Naples and in the other cities of Italy and the world which, from 27 to 30 May 2014, will prepare theme menus, which shows the dishes and the fixed prices.
