The Borgo Orefici in Naples
the Borgo
The small Borgo Orefici, extended between Corso Umberto I and Via Marina, had its official recognition in the Middle Ages thanks Giovanna D'Angiò, with the birth of his guild.
To start this long tradition of goldsmiths were French artisans working at the Angevin court which, therefore, will soon be supplanted by the Neapolitan goldsmiths.
Il Borgo is the place where objects of high artistic value have been realized. Just think of the precious statues belonging to the priceless treasure of San Gennaro, patron of the city of Naples.
The goldsmith art of its workshops is handed down from generation to generation and is protected by the Consortium Antico Borgo Orefici.
