Exhibition of artisanal and international nativity scenes at the Nativity in the world exhibition in Santa Maria La Nova!

The review has begun since 31 October Nativity in the World, imposing crib show permanent organized in Monumental Complex of S. Maria la Nova in Naples, by the Associazione Oltre il Chiostro onlus, the ARCA Museum and the AAPN, the Permanent Center for Research and Studies on the Neapolitan Crib.

The Neapolitan crib art it has secular origins and had its golden moment in the eighteenth century, when magnificent nativity scenes were made still today kept in the city museums. Previously the Nativity embellished churches, but with Charles of Bourbon it entered the courts, until it became one popular tradition.
The nativity scene is, in fact, the most felt Christmas tradition in Naples and over the years the materials used for its construction have changed, as have the shepherds, who have a more plastic pose, but the intention remains to reproduce snapshots of daily life down to the smallest detail.

In this special exhibition will be exhibited 26 works that will be changed cyclically, from 'court' cribs to family cribs, to give visibility to all participating artisans and artists who keep this historic local tradition alive.
