The world's smallest nativity scenes in Naples on display for 2016 Christmas

In the historic center of Naples, an exhibition with the smallest cribs in the world, even the size of 3 millimeters!

A truly original exhibition set up in the historic centre of Naples : it features some of the smallest nativity scenes in the world , measuring as little as 3 millimetres.

The exhibition is located at the headquarters of the "Progetto Sophia. Donne verso la bellezza" association and is sponsored by the Municipality. The mini nativity scenes are the fruit of the creativity of Don Antonio Esposito , who, during the war, retreated to his studio to create these small masterpieces.

The nativity scenes are the result of 40 years of artistic research, during which the works have gradually been refined and have taken on an aura of lightness and luminosity. Don Antonio Esposito also embarked on a spiritual journey, focusing on the creation of nativity scenes, achieving perfection with the one enclosed within a 3-millimeter hemp seed.

In total, there are 45 of these mini-dioramas , made from walnut shells , egg shells , pistachio shells and natural raw materials: there are faces painted on grains of pear pulp, figures sculpted from dried drops of oil paint, trees made from very small twigs or pine needles.

This breathtaking exhibition will allow you to fully experience it with the help of magnifying glasses and lights provided to all visitors. A guide will also be available to introduce you to the world of this original artist.
