Christmas in Naples 2017 will be opened by the Fairs that will be held in the Decumani and San Gregorio Armeno, which will be only the first of over 60 events.
They will start Saturday November 18, 2017 le Christmas fairs of San Gregorio Armeno and San Biagio dei Librai to end the 6 January 2018. The Christmas event will start in Piazza San Gaetano with the collaboration between the Corpo di Napoli Association, the San Gregorio Armeno Artisan Art Presepiale Association, the presence of the city authorities and the blessing of the parish priest of Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore.
This is the 146th edition of these fairs and stalls are only the first of the above 60 events that this year are expected with their traditions and their colors throughout the metropolitan area, from Ponticelli to Bagnoli, from Scampia to Fuorigrotta, from San Giovanni to Secondigliano, passing through the Sanità and the Centro Antico.
Le San Gregorio Armeno and Decumani fairs attract about 2 millions of visitors each year on average and this year will be dedicated to Family, always central in our lives and also in the creations of the nativity scene artisans in the area. And in the Nativity scene it is represented by Holy Family.
Particular attention will be given to the furnishings and the illuminations that will be respectful of the urban and architectural context of the historical center and in line with the improvements requested by the artisans, the citizens the street vendors and the associations that have been heard in various public assemblies.
Christmas in Naples attracts many tourists every year and for 2017 Christmas it will be strengthened the security machine thanks to the intervention not only of the Local Police, but also of the Civil Protection and the State Police.
