In the beating heart of Naples, inside the historic Royal Hotel of the Poor – Palazzo Fuga, Pride Park is glowing like a carnival of diversity.
This six day festival it is a kaleidoscope of cultural, political and social activities, all united by a common goal: celebrate and defend the rights of LGBTQI+ people and beyond.

This extraordinary event is about to reach its peak, marking the beginning of the XVI edition of Naples Pride.

Pride Park guests

Recently, Pride Park hosted a public debate on 'Culture, Education and Inclusion'. Among the attendees were such prominent personalities as:

  • Maurizio de Giovanni, famous author
  • Maura Striano, Councilor for Education and the Family of the Municipality of Naples
  • Vincenzo Capuano
  • Gian Pietro Gentilucci Leonardi
  • Mary Lippiello
  • Carmela Smaldone

The debate was led by the able moderator Claudio Finelli.

A cinematic and musical journey

After the debate, the audience had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of LGBT+ cinema with the screening of two short films:

  • "Louis and Vincent" by Giuseppe Bucci
  • “Ambrosia” by Peter Spark.

Subsequently, it was time for the documentary "La mamma dei femminielli - Loredana against transphobia" by Giulia Ottaviano, a powerful tribute to the Neapolitan trans activist Loredana Rossi. Loredana, present at the screening, delighted the audience with the bingo of the ladies. The evening ended with the vibrant notes of popular music and the tammorre of the Torre Annunziata group, “Quelli della Curva”.

Pride Park: a crossroads of inclusiveness

Pride Park resumed its operations with an anti-fascist town meeting, a poetic reading proposed by Agedo, the screening of the shorts by Rainbow Families and the staging of the short for the theater "Al di fuori dell'amore" by Luca Scafati.

The park hosts stands of numerous LGBTQI+ and non-LGBTQI+ associations, info-points of the anti-discrimination centres

  • Naples,
  • Caivano,
  • San Giorgio a Cremano,
  • Pomigliano d'Arco.

Also, visitors can enjoy several free exhibitions, including one on the gender toy, that of the Nero Acciaio comic strip, a photographic exhibition on the history of Italian lesbian feminism and one that explores the persecution of homosexuals during fascism.

Health and Wellness at Pride Park

A key aspect of Pride Park is attention to health and well-being. During all six days of events, it is possible to carry out rapid, anonymous and free HIV tests, syphilis and hepatitis.
These services are guaranteed by Check Point of Antinoo Arcigay Naples and supported by Rain Arcigay Carta and Apple Pie Avellino.

This initiative emphasizes the importance of prevention and awareness in the LGBTQI+ community, providing an essential service in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Checkpoints are available from 16pm to 30pm on 18, 30 and 28 June.
