In the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore in Naples will be hosted the relic of St. John Paul II, the Pope loved by the people!

A very important news for the faithful of Naples concerns the arrival in the Church of San Lorenzo Maggiore of relic of Pope John Paul II, which will remain in the city from 10 to 18 May 2017.

The sacred fragment included one part of the blood-stained white cassock that the Pope wore in the 1981 when he was the victim of an attempted attack.

It is the first time that it has been exhibited in Naples and it is about the third parish in the world to host it and indeed a rare papal act was necessary to get it out of the Vatican. He entered the Basilica transported by the Sisters of Santa Patrizia and, in the words of Father Leo, it is a day of great pride for the Church of Naples.

Il May 12 will be transported to the Polyclinic from 8.45 to 13.00, with children with leukemia so that patients can venerate it. We also remember that the dates chosen to receive the relic are important because May 13 is the centenary of Our Lady of Fatima and the attack we have mentioned.
