Galleria Vittoria reopens in Naples and pedestrianization returns to via Partenope

Finally, after a long wait, the good news has arrived: the Galleria Vittoria in Naples reopens to circulation tomorrow, Sunday 19 December 2021.

After about 15 months of closure and work to make it accessible again, the Gallery is once again usable and the new mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, will also be present at the opening.

THEventilation system has been restored, the tests gave a good result and this allowed to kick off the reopening.

It was also completed the assembly of the copper cables had been stolen.

What time does the Gallery reopen

The opening is planned at 9.30 and finally the car circulation will be able to resume and the traffic will be easier again, reducing all the inconveniences that have been in this year and more than closing.

Gradual opening of the Gallery

The opening will be gradual because first the lane will be opened from via Acton to via Morelli and gradually, in the following hours, i will also be restored direction of travel in via Arcoleo and via Chiatamone, those that had always been active before closing.

Practically, in via Arcoleo the direction of travel will return from Piazza Vittoria towards the Gallery, while from via Chiatamone it can only be driven towards Santa Lucia. Thus, it will be possible to reopen the lane that goes from via Morelli to via Acton.

The pedestrianization of via Partenope

Simultaneously with the opening of the second lane, the one towards via Acton, the pedestrianization of via Partenope will return. The road will therefore be closed to traffic throughout the Christmas holiday period.
