A tasty festival dedicated to the best and most tasty Dop tomato in the world

La Sagra del Pomodoro of the Piennolo del Vesuvio will take place in cercola from 24 to 26 July 2015  with many gastronomic moments.

Il cherry tomato piennolo: spongillo, it's a typical PDO product of Campania agriculture that can grow only at slopes of Vesuvius where there are favorable climatic and territorial conditions for its cultivation. Its peel is hard and red, its juice is sweet with a note of acidity and its intense flavor is essential in the preparation of many traditional dishes.

The custom of "al piennolo" conservation it allows you to tie some bunches or “shells” of ripe cherry tomatoes, to form a large one that is hung and which can be kept until the end of winter. The piennolo tomato is even represented in the scene of the host in the Neapolitan crib.

During the festival will be based on this tomato sauce that will season exquisite food, like the fried pizza, The gnocchi alla sorrentina andCaprese salad. In addition, Italian fry, Neapolitan baba and watermelon.

To entertain the public there will be numerous guests including the Duo x Duo of "Made in Sud", Monica Sarnelli and the emerging group Metropolitan Folk.
