The San Marzano tomato festival returns with an extensive menu and lots of fun events!
In Striano, in the province of Naples, the San Marzano tomato festival, to celebrate this unique product of our land.
The event will take place from 11 to 13 September 2015 and will focus especially on products at Km0. In addition to what is called "the king of tomatoes", it will be possible to taste excellent dishes cooked with homemade pasta, mozzarella di bufala, fiordilatte of important dairies and there will not be missing the famous fried pizzas of the area.
During the three days of the festival it will be possible to visit a photographic exhibition that tells the 50 years of activity of the important local company “Agriconserve Rega” of which many products can be eaten.
During the evenings there will also be a final of a beauty contest, one cabaret show and a musical.
Menu
Visitors can eat numerous dishes prepared in the various stands or choose the set menu, consisting of the following dishes:
- First course to choose between: Sicilian penne and spaghetti alla puttanesca
- Second course to choose from: buffalo mozzarella with tomato salad and aubergine parmigiana
- Fried pizza with tomato sauce
- Red wine
